Star Party

BEECHWOOD PARK - BEHIND RAMSEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (off-site)

Our second annual Star Party is hosted by Fred Kline and his fellow members of the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh. They will be sharing knowledge, expertise, and plenty of telescope equipment to showcase the wonders of the Milky Way Galaxy. This is your chance to stargaze up close and personal while also learning more about our nearest celestial neighbors and more!

The Star Party is scheduled for Friday, July 31. In case of cloudy skies, a make-up date is set for Saturday, August 1. Call the Library at 412-372-0500 (ex. 19) on Friday and Saturday to find out if we're set for the evening's activities. All families are welcome to attend, though this program is not recommended for children under the age of six. There is no fee and no need to register.

Monroeville Public Library Holds Zombie Fest

The Teen Area is located on the upper level of the Library. Turn left past the Front Desk and look for the bright blue shelves.

The Library offers programs such as Teen Book Club, Mother/Daughter Book Club, movie nights, craft events, music concerts, volunteer opportunities, and other special programs.

The Teen Area has popular fiction, classic literature titles, graphic novels, manga, non-fiction, AP exam study guides, and a paperback book collection for teens.

Our College Prep section features reference material for high school students planning their academic future, including college guides, SAT and ACT study guides, and financial aid resources. Teen non-fiction includes reference material for high school students choosing alternate career paths.

The Library has a variety of teen DVDs, CDs, videos, magazines, audiobooks, and PlayStation and Xbox games.
