Voting is CRUCIAL!

We want to help make sure you're ready this November! As an institution of information, resources, and programs we are a cornerstone for civic engagement. This year the Monroeville Public Library will also be a polling location, so here's everything you need to know. We will be open for polling, but normal library services will be unavailable on election day.

Major deadlines:

- Register to vote by October 19 at 11:59 PM

- Apply for a mail-in-ballot by October 27 at 5 PM

- Vote in person November 3 from 7 AM - 8 PM

Register to vote or update your registration online: here and check your voter registration status: here

Mail-In-Ballots

Mail-in ballots are for any qualified voter and can be requested for any reason. Absentee ballots are for people who plan to be out of the municipality, or another county approved reason.

The deadline to apply for a mail-in-ballot is October 27th. You can apply via mail, online, or in-person at the Elections Office or Satellite Election Offices. You can only apply once! So prepare ahead of time.

Once your received your ballot, make sure to take your time and read all the directions. Use blue or black ink, completely color in the circle, don't leave any stray marks on the ballot, use your full legal signature, and seal the ballot in the inner secrecy ballot before placing in the outer return envelope. If you apply for a mail-in-ballot and change your mind, that is okay. Make sure to bring your entire blank mail-in-ballot to the poll to be discarded so you can vote in person. Completed mail-in-ballots cannot be returned to the polls.

Mail-in-ballots can be returned by mail or in person.

- Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov 3 at 8 PM and received by the county election office by Nov 6 at 5 PM. You can track the status of the application or ballot: here.

- In-person ballots must be dropped off to the county election office by Nov 3 at PM. You can only drop off your own ballot. Ballots can also be dropped off at designated Drop-Boxes/Dropoff Sites or Satellite County Election Offices throughout October. Click here for the full list of locations.
