Due to our current staffing restrictions, we are unable to schedule any outreaches at this time. We are very disappointed that we cannot provide this service. When we are back to our regular staffing levels, we would love to talk to you about scheduling an outreach.
Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) is not just for school aged children. Preschool STEM outreaches are available to children ages 5 and below. Children’s Room staff will come out to your location and do a program that will offer an age-appropriate experience, given hands-on opportunities to explore the world around them. The Preschool STEM Outreach works best with groups of 20 or less.
Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) is a hallmark of education today. The Children’s Room staff are available to develop an age-appropriate activity, with or without, a coordinating book, which will give your students/young people a chance to explore the world around them through hands-on problem solving. These outreaches are great for classrooms, scout troops, and camp groups. This outreach can be designed for almost any size group.
This is what many people think of when they think of the library coming to do an outreach. For the traditional storytime, staff will come out to your setting. They will read a themed collection of 2-3 books with songs, rhymes, and actions. This outreach is available for many different age groups and group sizes.
This is by far one of our most popular outreaches. In this outreach, one of our Children’s Room staff will read 1-2 stories and present the children with a game or activity that ties into what was read. The activities can be games, craft, or project. We take care to make sure the activity is age-appropriate and within the skill level of the children with whom we will be working
Writing is an important part of today’s curriculum. The Monroeville Public Library Outreach Staff offers workshops that will challenge writing in a fun environment. The activities can concentrate on various aspects of writing. Staff is available to work closely with the teacher or group leader to best meet the needs of the children. This outreach is intended for school-aged children.
Every group of children is different. You know your group and what they want and need. That is why the Children’s Room will work with you and create an outreach specifically for your group. Whether it is a specific theme you need or some enrichment in a certain area, we are available to help you by presenting an outreach that would be age-appropriate and fun.
