The library MakerLab is a designated area within the library that provides access to tools and technology for patrons to create, design, and build. These spaces offer a range of resources, from vinyl cutters and sewing machines to laser cutters and traditional craft supplies—fostering creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy in a collaborative environment. The library MakerLab hosts classes and open hours to help patrons learn new skills and complete projects, making it a valuable community hub for lifelong learning and innovation.
How does it work?
Patrons can sign up to take an introductory class for each piece of equipment. After completing the class, the patron is then able to book “open hours” to use the equipment for their own projects.
